HB 680
Paying Off One of the Democrats’ Prime Constituencies.
2023 - Maryland House of Representatives
Vote Description

This bill apportions a tax credit to individuals who have taken out student loans and are in debt as a result of this decision. CPAC does not believe that the government should show favoritism toward indebted ex-college students, the likes of whom are generally more likely to have higher incomes than those without college degrees, and opposed this bill. The House passed this bill on March 15, 2023 by a vote of 125-13 and the bill later became law.
