This bill establishes the Equitech Growth fund, the likes of which will apportion millions of dollars per year to private, nonprofit, and public entities for the purpose of improving Maryland’s diverse workforce goals and its innovation economy. CPAC opposes government favoritism toward particular businesses and opposed this bill. The House passed this bill on March 15, 2023 by a vote of 119-18 and the bill later became law.
