SB 351
Paying for Other People’s Legal Expenses.
2023 - Maryland Senate
Vote Description

This bill sets up the Affordable Life, Wills, and Estate Planning for Seniors Grant Program. As the title suggests, this program will provide eligible clients with access to legal services focused on their last will and testaments and their power of attorney. CPAC does not believe that taxpayers should be forced to pay off other people’s legal bills and opposed this bill. The Senate passed this bill on March 20, 2023 by a vote of 46-0 and the bill later became law.
