This bill permits the Maryland Attorney General to investigate and prosecute individuals suspected of subjective and ambiguous “civil rights violations,” further weaponizing the government against its political enemies on behalf of Leftism. CPAC opposes this banana republic style of governance and opposed this bill. The Senate passed this bill on March 17, 2023 by a vote of 36-9 and the bill later became law.
