This bill establishes the Maryland Entertainment District Security Grant Program, the likes of which will fund security operation in districts where there is a high amount of pedestrian traffic. CPAC believes that taxpayers should not be forced to pay for the security operations of entertainment districts and opposed this bill. The Senate passed this bill on April 8, 2024 by a vote of 39-0 and the bill later became law.
