This bill authorizes numerous entities to bring civil actions against private actors in the event that they believe that they are being harmed by water pollution. CPAC opposes frivolous litigation, recognizes that this measure will promote such, and opposed this bill. The Senate passed this bill on April 3, 2024 by a vote of 33-12 and the bill later became law.
