This bill allows people to file with a circuit court a request for an Extreme Risk Protection Order against an individual. This order would prevent that person from acquiring or purchasing a firearm. CPAC opposes new red flag laws, the likes of which crack down on Second Amendment rights, and opposed this bill. The House passed this bill on April 13, 2023 by a vote of 56-51 and the bill later became law.
