HB 4729
Adding “Presumed Cause” Illness for Worker’s Compensation
2024 - Michigan House of Representatives
Vote Description

This bill adds heart disease and respiratory illnesses to qualifications for worker’s comp for some police and fire workers without showing a connection to work. CPAC believes there should be some proof shown of a connection before adding to the employer paid system and opposed this bill. The House passed the bill on December 12, 2024, by a vote of 56-53, but the bill was not taken up by the Senate.
