Funding All of Minnesota’s Crony Agriculture Programs. This omnibus bill shovels a boatload of funds into Minnesota’s numerous agriculture programs. For example, it apportions $5,165,000 to “agricultural marketing and development” purposes, $1,000,000 to the state fair, $3,375,000 to biofuel promotion initiatives, and much, MUCH more. CPAC opposes many of these programs and the fact that Minnesota’s legislature consistently hides appropriations for them in large 107-page bills. The House passed this bill on May 11, 2023 by a vote of 85-44 and the bill later became law.
