This bill allows the assets that a person owns to be disregarded as a potential disqualifier of a person’s eligibility for state medical assistance up until the time of their second annual assistance renewal. The bill also appropriates millions to other state-sponsored medical assistance endeavors. The House passed this bill on March 30, 2023 by a vote of 82-44 and the bill later became law.
