This bill makes numerous changes to Minnesota’s election laws. It allows, for example, minors ages 16 or older to register to vote. The bill also makes it easier for individuals to join Minnesota’s permanent absentee ballot list and sets up a system that automatically registers people to vote in some circumstances. CPAC opposes measures that weaken election security and opposed this bill. The Senate passed this bill on April 26, 2023 by a vote of 34-33 and the bill later became law.
