This bill makes it such that discrimination on the basis of hairstyles associated with race may also be counted as a violation of Minnesota’s civil rights laws. CPAC recognizes that this provision will be used as a means of spurring a host of frivolous lawsuits and opposed this bill. The House passed this bill on January 26, 2023 by a vote of 45-19 and the bill later became law.
