This bill prohibits state agencies from adopting regulations or promulgating guidelines that hamstring particular industries or companies for the sake of pursuing ESG objectives. It also prohibits fiduciaries of the state from investing funds on the basis of ESG standards. CPAC supports the removal of ESG from the government’s halls of power and supported this bill. The House passed this bill on March 27, 2023 by a vote of 105-43 but the bill did not progress any further.
