This resolution helps make changes to Missouri’s initiative petition process such that it better reflects the desire of Missouri’s residents. For example, it creates safeguards preventing money from out of the state from funding efforts to bring particular petitions to bear. CPAC supports efforts to help this process better reflect the will of Missourians and supported this resolution. The House refused to secede and give up on SJR 74 on May 16, 2024 by a vote of 104-45 and the resolution made no further progress by the end of the session.
