HB 1 (SS 2)
Cobbling Together a Sizeable Incentive Package for Data Centers
2024 - Mississippi House of Representatives
Vote Description

During Mississippi’s second special session, Governor Reeves called legislators together to vote on a package that would offer millions of dollars in financial incentives through the “Project Atlas” fund in return for 10 billion dollars of investment from a data center company. CPAC believes that the government should abstain from showing favoritism toward particular industries and companies and opposed this bill. The House passed this bill on January 25, 2024 by a vote of 120-1 and the bill later became law.
