This bill is a smaller version of the Senate bill (SB 2438) that ads paid parental leave to the list of benefits given to state employees. CPAC opposes spending tax money on a benefit that goes to state employees, in effect paying for state employees’ benefits that many businesses cannot afford for their own employees and opposed this bill. The House passed the bill on March 14, 2025 by a vote of 118-0 and the bill later became law.
