This bill would put Mississippi in the expanded Medicaid column under Obamacare but the governor vetoed the final bill that came out of conference committee. CPAC has long opposed Medicaid expansion that puts a financial burden on the state in the long run and opposed this bill. The House passed the bill on April 1, 2025 by a vote of 97-13 but, as noted, it was vetoed by the governor.
