This bill adds qualifying “controlled environment agriculture enterprises” to the list of businesses that may apply for ad valorem tax exemptions. CPAC opposes government favoritism toward certain industries and opposed this bill. The Senate passed this bill on March 14, 2023 by a vote of 52-0 and the bill later became law.
