SB 2001 (SS 1)
Appropriating Hundreds of Millions of Dollars for Green Energy
2024 - Mississippi Senate
Vote Description

During Mississippi’s first special session, Governor Reeves called legislators together to vote on a package that would offer millions of dollars in financial incentives through the “Project Poppy” fund in return for the location of a 1.9 billion dollar green energy plant in the state. CPAC supports all forms of energy, believes that the government should not support one form of energy over another, and opposed this bill. The Senate passed this bill on January 18, 2024 by a vote of 47-2 and the bill later became law.
