This bill recognizes the right of medical practitioners to refuse to participate in healthcare services that violate their conscience. It also allows healthcare institutions to refuse to participate in any services that violate their conscience as well. CPAC supports freedom of conscience protections for medical practitioners and supported this bill. The Senate passed this bill on April 14, 2023 by a vote of 31-19 and the bill later became law.
