This bill makes it unlawful for a physician to perform a gender reassignment surgery on a minor or to prescribe puberty-blockers to minors. CPAC opposes the mutilation of minors and supported this bill. The House overrode Governor Cooper’s veto of this bill on August 16, 2023 by a vote of 74-45 and the bill later became law.
