HB 1273
Banning Ranked-Choice Voting in North Dakota's Localities.
2023 - North Dakota Senate
Vote Description

This bill prohibits localities from using ranked choice and approval voting methods in order to elect their officials. Ranked choice voting allows, in some instances, for individuals who receive the second greatest number of votes to win the election by apportioning votes from other losing candidates to them. CPAC opposes this obvious election fraud and supported this bill. The Senate sustained the Governor’s veto of this bill on April 19, 2023 by a vote of 28-19.
