HB 282
Rolling Back Pension Reform
2025 - New Hampshire House of Representatives
Vote Description

HB 282 rolls back pension reforms that blocked state employees from increasing their eventual pension by skipping vacation days and holidays for several years. CPAC believes that police officers and firemen deserve generous compensation for all they do to keep their communities safe. However, this compensation must be bounded by the fiscal realities of the state. Adding additional pension obligations when the state already has extensive unfunded pension liabilities is unwise, so CPAC opposes this bill. HB 282 was passed by the New Hampshire House of Representatives in a 322-41 vote on June 26, 2025, and it was signed into law by Governor Kelly Ayotte.
