This bill allows minors to change their name without telling their parents if the government believes that telling the parents would cause harm to the minor. CPAC recognizes that this tactic is merely a ploy to reduce parental rights and opposed this bill. The House passed this bill on February 14, 2023 by a vote of 43-24 and the bill later became law.
