This bill enacts a Leftist wish list of election provisions. For example, it establishes a system whereby voters are automatically registered to vote at the MVD, creates a voluntary permanent absentee voter list, mandates same-date voter registration at polling places, and requires that counties have two secure ballot drop boxes within their jurisdiction. CPAC opposes measures that weaken election integrity and opposed this bill. The House passed this bill on February 21, 2023 by a vote of 41-26 and the bill later became law.
