Creating a Costly Paid Family and Medical Leave Program.

2023 - New Mexico Senate

Vote Description

This bill creates assessments against all employers within the state of New Mexico to provide for a paid family and medical leave program. CPAC recognizes that this measure would incur huge costs for businesses, believes that employees should negotiate their benefits with employers without the intrusion of government, and opposed this bill. The Senate passed this bill on March 4, 2023 by a vote of 23-15 but the bill did not progress in the House.
