This bill requires that at least 2 percent of the work hours performed by apprentices for public contractors be completed by women. CPAC believes that public contracts should be fulfilled by those who will do the best job at the lowest cost to the taxpayer, opposes sexist hiring practices, and opposed this bill. The Senate passed this bill on May 25, 2023 by a vote of 16-4 but Governor Lombardo vetoed the bill.
