This bill prohibits landlords from restricting the installation of appliances and prohibits a surcharge if the tenant deals directly with a utility. CPAC believes that all these issues should be between the landlord and tenant and not the government and opposed this bill. The Assembly passed the bill on May 13, 2025 by a vote of 93-52 but the bill was not taken up in the Senate.
