S 818
Quickening Reductions in Election Security by Moving Up the Timetable for Fraud-Promoting Election Laws.
2023 - New York Senate
Vote Description

This bill amends the John R. Lewis Voting Rights Act such that it now comes into law on July 1, 2023. CPAC recognizes that the numerous ambiguous restrictions that this act places onto election officials open further opportunities for vote fraud, opposes measures that decrease election security, and opposed this bill. The Senate passed this bill on February 8, 2023 by a vote of 41-21 and the bill later became law.
