This bill requires the state to develop an emergency heating assistance program, the likes of which will help foot people's heating bills if their heating is to be cut off due to nonpayment. CPAC opposes the expansion of the welfare state and opposed this bill. The Senate passed this bill on June 6, 2024 by a vote of 59-2 but the bill did not become law.
