This bill creates the Division on Economic Development, Growth, and Expansion and the Division on Community Outreach and Revitalization Enterprise. The former organization will work to “drive economic growth” and coordinate investments from the state’s economic development initiatives. The latter will attempt to help create jobs and support the long-term competitiveness of the state. CPAC opposes the expansion of the bureaucracy, opposes this obscene increase in the central planning tendencies of the government, and opposed this bill. The House passed this bill on May 30, 2024 by a vote of 52-38 and the bill later became law.
