HB 2004
Establishing Ranked-Choice Voting for Oregon’s Most Significant Elections.
2023 - Oregon House of Representatives
Vote Description

This bill establishes ranked choice voting as the method for deciding certain federal and state elections. Ranked choice voting is a method of voting that can allow the candidate that places second in an election to win the election by apportioning votes from other losing candidates to that candidate. CPAC opposes this consequence and opposed this bill. The House passed this bill on June 25, 2023 by a vote of 34-17 and the bill later became law.
