HB 2649
Shoving DEI Requirements into Public Contracts.
2023 - Oregon Senate
Vote Description

This bill requires that public contractors have individuals who are racial minorities or women take part in at least 15% of the work hours that the company completes for a public project. CPAC believes that individuals should not be favored in hiring processes because of their race or sex, opposes government measures that force companies to employ such racism and sexism in their hiring processes, and opposed this bill. The Senate passed this bill on June 22, 2023 by a vote of 16-8 and the bill later became law.
