This bill requires the Department of Land Conservation and Development to create a roadmap outlining standards to be considered when engaging in offshore wind energy development. CPAC supports all forms of energy, recognizes that this bill has been created in preparation for the preferential treatment of the energy produced by offshore wind turbines, believes that the government should not support one form of energy over another, and opposed this bill. The Senate passed this bill on March 7, 2024 by a vote of 17-11 and the bill later became law.
