This bill increases the amount of wages protected from garnishment and makes it more difficult for a person to lose their house or the funds in their bank account in the event that they fail to pay off their debts. CPAC believes that people should pay off their debts, further believes that the government should instead work to help enforce contract law, and opposed this bill. The Senate passed this bill on March 4, 2024 by a vote of 22-8 and the bill later became law.
