This bill authorizes local taxing authorities to provide tax exemptions for improving and redeveloping shopping malls. CPAC opposes using tax money to fund projects rejected by private enterprise, such as the now-outmoded shopping mall and opposed this bill. The House passed the bill on April 15, 2024 by vote of 106-95 but the bill was not taken up by the Senate.
