This bill, known as the “Right to Know” law, requires the hiring of an open records officer in each Commonwealth agency that would be a conduit for open records requests and the posting of some state contract information. CPAC supports increasing the public’s knowledge of what is happening in state government and supported this bill. The Senate passed the bill on July 1, 2024 by a vote of 28-22 but the bill was not taken up in the House.
