This bill allows the Division of Motor Vehicles to issue state identification cards to illegal immigrants, building on top of a law that the state recently passed allowing illegal immigrants to receive so-called “drivers privilege” cards. CPAC opposes measures that incentivize illegal immigration and opposed this bill. The Senate passed this bill on June 15, 2023 by a vote of 28-8 and the bill later became law.
