S 2202
Insisting on More Regulations on Firearms in Rhode Island
2024 - Rhode Island Senate
Vote Description

This bill makes it illegal for a person to store a firearm in a place that the government deems “unsafe.” The bill also imposes additional restrictions on firearms dealers. For examples, it requires rifles and shotguns to be sold with trigger lock mechanisms. CPAC opposes this attempt to impose barriers on the exercise of one’s Second Amendment freedoms and opposed this bill. The Senate passed this bill on June 6, 2024 by a vote of 30-7 and the bill later became law.
