This bill prohibits medical facilities from reporting medical debt to credit rating agencies. CPAC opposes this particular effort to obscure information that could otherwise negatively impact a financial institution’s ability to decide whether or not to give out a loan and opposed this bill. The Senate passed this bill on June 6, 2024 by a vote of 36-0 and the bill later became law.
