This bill increases the amount of funds that may be apportioned to qualifying university students through the state’s opportunity scholarships program. CPAC does not believe that taxpayers should be forced to subsidize other people’s college tuition and opposed this bill. The Senate passed this bill on March 1, 2023 by a vote of 30-4 and the bill later became law.
