This bill sets up a loan repayment grant program for family medicine students who agree to work in rural areas after their training for a time. CPAC does not believe that taxpayers should be forced to help pay off other people’s student loans and opposed this bill. The House passed this bill on April 19, 2023 by a vote of 96-0 and the bill later became law.
