This bill returns sovereign regulatory powers to the state, acknowledging the chaos of allowing municipalities to establish diverse and wide-ranging regulations. It does this by prohibiting localities from adopting regulations that are harsher than those found at the state level. CPAC supports efforts to reduce the complexity of government regulations and supported this bill. The Senate passed this bill on May 16, 2023 by a vote of 18-13 and the bill later became law.
