This bill sponsored by Rep. Gregory Steube, known as the “Protection of Women and Girls in Sports Act,” makes it unlawful for federally funded athletic programs and activities to allow males to compete in competitions designed for females. CPAC supports efforts to create a safe and fair environment of play in women’s sports and supported this bill. The House passed this bill on April 20, 2023 by a vote of 219-203 but the bill never became law.
