RC 204
Competing with Private Services in Weather Modeling.
2023 - US House of Representatives
Vote Description

This bill sponsored by Rep. Max Miller, known as the “Advanced Weather Model Computing Development Act,” directs the Department of Energy to research different ways to advance weather and climate modeling and prediction schemes. CPAC believes that the government should not engage in activities otherwise performed by private entities that compete with such entities. CPAC, therefore, opposed this bill. The House passed this bill on May 9, 2023 by a vote of 356-50 but the bill did not advance in the Senate.
