This bill sponsored by Rep. Kelly Armstrong, known as the “Gas Stove Protection and Freedom Act,” prohibits the Consumer Product Safety Commission from using federal funds to ban gas stoves or create a regulation that makes gas stoves prohibitively expensive. CPAC supports efforts to prevent a Democrat-backed gas stove ban and supported this bill. The House passed this bill on June 13, 2023 by a vote of 248-180 but the bill never became law.
