The Josh Brecheen amendment to H. R. 4368 eliminates funding for the USDA’s rental assistance program. This program provides payments to the owners of USDA-financed rural and farm labor housing projects in order to support low-income tenants. CPAC does not believe that taxpayers should be forced to pay for other people’s rent and supported this amendment. The House defeated this amendment on September 27, 2023 by a vote of 89-341.
