The Marjorie Taylor Greene amendment to H. R. 4665 prohibits the federal government from sending further financial assistance to Ukraine. According to CPAC’s 2023 straw poll, nearly 80% of respondents disapproved of measures that provide an even greater amount of funds to Ukraine. CPAC believes that the government should work to promote the interests of American citizens, further recognizes that the war in Ukraine does not represent a compelling interest for American taxpayers at this time, and therefore supported this amendment. The House defeated this amendment on September 28, 2023 by a vote of 90-342.
