HR 870
To require a report from the Secretary of Defense on the use of taxpayer-funded official time.
2024 - US House of Representatives
Vote Description

The Scott Perry (CPAC Score 97%) amendment to the Defense Authorization bill (NDAA) forces the government to defend the use of “official time.” This exposes a practice that allows government employees to be paid for enforcing union rules rather than working on government policy. This amendment would force the Secretary of Defense to finally report the use of “Official Time” at his agency. CPAC has long opposed this waste of the taxpayer’s money and supported this amendment. The House defeated this amendment on June14, 2024 by a vote of 188-228.
