Vote Description

This bill, sponsored by Rep. August Pfluger (CPAC Lifetime Score 83%) prevents a president from declaring a moratorium on hydraulic fracturing without the consent of Congress. CPAC supports American energy dominance and opposes executive overreach that threatens to destroy American energy production, and supported this bill. The House passed the bill on February 7, 2025, by a vote of 226-188, with 209 Republicans, 16 Democrats and 1 Independent voting for and 188 Democrats voting against. The bill was not given a vote in the Senate.
